South Korea's consumer price index increased 2.8 percent year-on-year in July 2025, down from 3.2 percent in June, according to data released August 4 by the Ministry of Data and Statistics. The month-on-month decline of 0.2 percent marked the first such drop in eight months, with petroleum products falling 5.5 percent month-on-month. Core inflation excluding food and energy also rose 2.6 percent year-on-year.
