David Johnston, a licensed South Carolina attorney who entered the Capitol on January 6, 2021, has offered to assist defendants with applications to a Trump administration fund of approximately $1.776–1.8 billion for alleged victims of government weaponization in exchange for a 10% fee capped at $5,000. The fund has been temporarily frozen by a judge and no application process has been established. Hundreds of January 6 participants pleaded guilty to lawbreaking and some received pardons.
