Sony will cease manufacturing physical discs for new PlayStation games starting January 2028. The company will also close the PlayStation Store on PS3 and PS Vita consoles in phases beginning August 2025 in three Latin American countries and ending July 2027 in remaining regions. Owners of affected consoles will lose the ability to purchase new content after each closure but retain download access to prior purchases.
