Skeletal remains of Dakshayini, a 57-year-old woman, were recovered from a house in Havanur Layout, Bengaluru, on August 7 after a neighbor reported a foul smell. She had been diagnosed with schizophrenia following her son's death in 2005 and had lived alone for several years after 2017. An unnatural death report was registered under Section 194 of the BNSS, with police estimating the remains had been present for nearly a year.
