A Siena University poll conducted after the June primary found Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul leading Republican Bruce Blakeman 49 percent to 39 percent among likely voters. Hochul held narrow edges on public safety and immigration while leading by 16 points on affordable housing; Blakeman led by 8 points in downstate suburbs. The poll is the first head-to-head matchup reported since the primaries.
