The Senate Intelligence Committee voted 9-8 along party lines on Tuesday to advance Jay Clayton's nomination for director of national intelligence. Clayton, the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and President Trump's nominee from last month, stated during his confirmation hearing that he is not an election denier and acknowledged Joe Biden's certification as president. Bill Pulte currently serves as acting DNI.
