Samsung Electronics reported Q2 results on July 30 showing operating profit of 89.5 trillion won and revenue of 171.5 trillion won, with both figures representing substantial year-over-year increases. The semiconductor division accounted for nearly all operating profit while the mobile, TV, and home appliances division recorded an operating loss. SK Hynix also reported record earnings on July 29.
