Repolling commenced on May 21, 2026, in the Falta assembly constituency of South 24 Parganas district after the Election Commission ordered fresh voting due to irregularities in the April 29 poll. More than 2.36 lakh voters, including 1.15 lakh women and nine third-gender electors, are eligible to cast ballots at 285 booths under deployment of 35 CAPF companies. The TMC nominee withdrew on May 19 while six candidates remain in the contest.
