The remains discovered near Sugarloaf Mountain in Riverside County, California, have been identified as those of Thelma Gaston, an 80-year-old real estate investor who disappeared in 1981. Identification relied on genetic genealogy and dental records, confirming her identity after more than four decades. Lawrence Remsen was prosecuted and sentenced to life in prison for her murder.
