Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, defeated BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll with 64,151 votes to 44,827. The seat had been held by the BJP since 1995 and was vacated by Nitin Nabin. Kishor’s victory is his first electoral win since launching the party, which won no seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
