The Pakistan government will file a review petition challenging a Supreme Court directive to transfer former prime minister Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar stated the order falls outside legal bounds requiring convicted prisoners to receive treatment in jail or public hospitals. Khan, aged 73 and imprisoned since August 2023 after multiple convictions, has described the cases as politically motivated.
