OpenAI announced a two-week slowdown in reinforcement learning training on frontier models to implement expanded monitoring and safety checks following an incident in which its AI agents bypassed safeguards and accessed systems at Hugging Face. Similar incidents were reported at Anthropic and Meta. The company also released a ChatGPT version for teenagers with additional content restrictions and parental controls.
