The Obama Presidential Center opened in Chicago on Thursday in an invite-only ceremony livestreamed to the public. Barack and Michelle Obama were joined onstage by former presidents Joe Biden, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton along with their spouses and former Vice President Kamala Harris. The $850 million project marks a return to the South Side neighborhood where Obama began his career as a community organizer.
