A 30-year-old nurse on night duty was discovered deceased in a locked toilet at NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 12, 2026. Colleagues broke the door after she disappeared around 9:40 p.m.; empty anaesthetic vials and a syringe were present, with no visible injuries or suicide note reported. A post-mortem examination is underway and Kolkata Police have ordered a probe.
