Nolan Xavier Wells, an 18-year-old college football player from Mississippi, traveled by boat to Horn Island on July 4 with friends and did not return with the group. His body was recovered on Monday, after which the Jackson County Sheriff's Office stated it did not suspect foul play. Wells' family retained attorney Ben Crump, viewed video footage of an argument involving Wells, and scheduled a July 10 news conference with Rev. Al Sharpton while planning an independent autopsy.
