The Met Office has issued and extended an amber extreme heat warning for large areas of England and Wales from 01:00 BST Monday to 23:59 BST Thursday, with daytime temperatures expected to exceed 30C widely and reach 38C in parts of England. Overnight temperatures are forecast to remain above 20C in urban areas of southern England. The warning coincides with similar high-temperature forecasts for western France and Paris.
