Jihad al-Shamie, 35, carried out a vehicle and knife attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur, killing one worshipper before being shot dead by police. Mohammad Bashir, 31, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years for his role. Police had seized al-Shamie's devices months earlier but did not examine the data until after the attack.
