Louisiana lawmakers have advanced a new six-district congressional map that creates a net gain of one seat for Republicans while retaining one majority-Black district. The map follows a U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down the previous lines as an illegal racial gerrymander. Republican Gov. Jeff Landry is expected to sign the measure.
