The Lok Sabha Secretariat and Committee of Privileges issued notices to Rahul Gandhi requiring a response by August 28 regarding remarks made against Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the July 29 debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Sanjay Jaiswal submitted the notices alleging violations of Rules 352 and 353 after Gandhi used the terms “idiots” and “andhbhakts.” The Committee will examine the complaints following receipt of Gandhi’s reply.
