Amal Khalil, a Lebanese journalist working for al-Akhbar newspaper, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Al-Tiri, southern Lebanon, where she and a colleague had taken refuge after an earlier strike on a car. A colleague was wounded in the attack, and rescuers attempting to recover her body from the rubble were targeted. Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described the targeting of journalists and obstruction of rescue efforts as war crimes.
