Framing Analysis
Peru's election commission announced that Keiko Fujimori defeated Roberto Sanchez in the June 7 presidential election after 100 percent of votes were counted 22 days later. Fujimori received 9,223,396 votes (50.135 percent) to Sanchez's 9,173,755 votes (49.865 percent) and is scheduled to assume a five-year term on July 28. Sanchez has stated he will not recognize the result due to alleged electoral violations.
