U.S. District Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin scheduled a March 2-19, 2027 trial in Oakland federal court for the lawsuit by California and 11 other states against the $111 billion Paramount-Skydance acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The suit alleges the merger would combine two of five major film studios and two of five largest basic cable networks. Paramount requested an earlier November start while the states sought April; David Ellison stated the company remains open to settlement but expects to prevail at trial.
