Jason Arday served as professor of sociology of education at the University of Cambridge after his 2023 appointment as the institution's youngest Black professor. He resigned from the role and a Jesus College fellowship last week and was found dead at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon. Police have stated the death is unexpected but not suspicious.
