Framing Analysis
Iran carried out the executions of Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani and Amir Hossein Safari Hosseinabadi on Tuesday for convictions related to the killing of four police officers, arson at a police station, and damage to public property in Isfahan during protests that began in late December. Two additional men in the same case were executed earlier in July. Iranian authorities reported over 3,000 deaths from the unrest while rights groups estimated more than 7,000, with tens of thousands arrested.
