The International Olympic Committee provisionally lifted the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee on Tuesday, allowing Russian athletes to enter qualifiers for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The original suspension occurred in October 2023 after the ROC recognized regional Olympic councils in four Ukrainian territories. The IOC has not yet decided on the use of Russian national symbols at future events.
