Indonesian authorities intercepted the MV Rain Maker, a Tanzanian-flagged vessel operating under a false name, and seized 2.6 tonnes of liquid methamphetamine plus 1.5 million illegal cigarettes. Ten Myanmar nationals were arrested in the joint customs and narcotics operation conducted late Monday near Bengkalis in Riau province. The seizure follows intelligence on a route from Sarawak, Malaysia, through the Andaman Sea and marks the second such Tanzanian-flagged interception in the area this month.
