The monsoon session of Parliament, which began July 20 and runs until August 13, 2026, resumed proceedings in the Lok Sabha at 11 a.m. on August 3 under presiding officer Dilip Saikia. Four bills are scheduled for introduction or consideration that day, including the Indian Statistical Institute Bill 2026 and the Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill 2026, while the Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill 2026 has already passed the Lok Sabha. A statutory resolution on the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Ordinance 2026 and a Finance Minister statement on 2022-23 Excess Grants are also on the agenda.
