The Ministry of External Affairs notified revised passport fees on June 20, 2026, replacing Schedule IV of the Passports Rules, 1980, with new rates taking effect July 1. Normal fees for 36-page adult passports rise to Rs 2,500 and tatkal to Rs 5,000; 60-page versions are Rs 3,500 normal and Rs 6,000 tatkal. Replacement and minor applicant fees also increase, according to notifications reported by Times of India and Hindustan Times.
