Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi stated on July 16 that Saudi oil and vital facilities would face missile and drone attacks if Riyadh escalates involvement in Yemen. The remarks followed Houthi accusations of a Saudi-led coalition strike on a Houthi-controlled airport and came after prior Houthi strikes on Saudi targets. Yemen remains divided between Houthi administration in Sanaa and a Saudi-backed government in Aden after more than a decade of civil war.
