A head-on collision occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday on the M9 motorway in County Kildare between Junctions 3 and 4 when one vehicle traveled southbound in the northbound carriageway. Several people died and at least four others, including a child, were seriously injured and taken to hospitals in the Dublin area. Gardaí are investigating and the case has been referred to the police ombudsman.
