Framing Analysis
Gen. Christopher Donahue, commanding general of U.S. Army Europe and Africa and NATO’s Allied Land Command, will step down next week and be replaced on an interim basis by his deputy, Maj. Gen. Christopher Norrie. Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) stated that Donahue is owed an explanation, while the Pentagon declined to comment. Donahue was the last U.S. service member to depart Afghanistan in 2021, and an ongoing Pentagon review of the withdrawal continues under Pete Hegseth.
