Israeli strikes killed 18 people in Gaza on Sunday while Israel controls more than 60 percent of the territory and has occupied two-thirds of the enclave. Hamas announced it would surrender weapons to a new Palestinian governing body under the Trump-brokered plan agreed last October. More than 1,200 Palestinians and six Israelis have been killed since the October ceasefire.
