An external review by WilmerHale, commissioned by the Gates Foundation, examined foundation records and conducted over 50 employee interviews but did not access Bill Gates’ personal emails or Gates Ventures activities. The three-page summary reported no evidence that the foundation paid Jeffrey Epstein or was aware of his crimes. Approximately 30 meetings between Gates, foundation staff, and Epstein from 2011 to 2014 were referenced in reporting on the review.
