Around 60 competitors participated in France’s 73rd lumberjacking championship on 9 August in Chamrousse, an Alpine resort southeast of Grenoble. The event, held since 1953, featured hand-axe log-cutting races with a fastest time of 4.49 seconds and drew roughly 2,000 spectators. Eight-time champion Pierre Puybaret and organizer Pascal Gaidet were present.
