Framing Analysis
Carmen Lineberger, who managed the Fort Pierce branch of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, was charged with theft of government property and concealment or alteration of records after allegedly emailing a copy of a sealed special counsel report to her personal Gmail account. The indictment, unsealed this week, concerns a report prepared by Special Counsel Jack Smith on the investigation into classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Lineberger renamed the file “Bundt_Cake_Recipe.pdf” before transmission, according to multiple reports.
