A flash flood on August 26 in Nepal's Trishuli valley affected six hydropower plants, with approximately 900 people reported missing. Two workers were rescued alive from a tunnel at the Upper Trishuli 3A plant nine days after the event. Engineers had formed a WhatsApp group prior to the flood to coordinate rescue efforts, and the event deposited 2.2 million tonnes of mud and debris in the valley.
