The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration proposed an airworthiness directive on July 27 requiring inspection and correction of passenger seat assemblies on 453 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft registered in the United States. The directive follows a report that some seat assemblies were not correctly installed in seat tracks, with up to 69 such assemblies possible per plane. Each correction is estimated to require one work hour and no parts.
