The European Parliament approved a trade agreement with the United States that eliminates tariffs on American industrial goods and lobster while reducing levies on US agricultural exports. The deal, negotiated a year earlier at President Trump's Turnberry golf course, followed threats of higher US tariffs if not passed by July 4. Individual EU member states must still ratify the agreement before full implementation.
