Framing Analysis
Eric Hafner, a registered Democrat serving a federal prison sentence in New York until 2036 for making threats, advanced from Alaska's 2024 U.S. House primary despite no apparent ties to the state. He received 5,757 votes after 93 percent of ballots were counted and placed among the top four finishers, joining incumbent Republican Nick Begich and independent Bill Hill. The Alaska Democratic Party challenged his candidacy without success.
