Framing Analysis
The Ebola outbreak centered in the Democratic Republic of Congo was declared on May 15 and involves the Bundibugyo strain, with 900 suspected cases and 220 suspected deaths recorded by the WHO since mid-May. A small number of cases have been detected in Uganda, while the outbreak has spread to North Kivu and South Kivu provinces amid ongoing armed conflict. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus issued a warning on May 27 and is scheduled to visit the DRC.
