Framing Analysis
Two earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela on June 24, centered about 160 km west of Caracas and reported by the U.S. Geological Survey. La Guaira, a key port and gateway to Caracas and its international airport, sustained damage. Casualty figures remain disputed across sources, with reports ranging from 32 deaths and 700 injuries to 164 deaths and nearly 1,000 injuries.
