Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 63, was convicted of murder for his role in the September 7, 1996 drive-by shooting death of Tupac Shakur. The conviction followed a two-week trial and established Davis as a leader of the South Side Compton Crips whose nephew Orlando Anderson carried out the shooting from a Cadillac. Shakur, then 25, died six days after being shot while riding with Marion “Suge” Knight near the Las Vegas Strip.
