A three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed Peter Navarro's conviction for contempt of Congress after he declined to comply with a House January 6 committee subpoena. Navarro served prison time before release ahead of the 2024 Republican National Convention and later returned to a trade advisory role in the second Trump administration. Steve Bannon received similar jail time for parallel noncompliance.
