Dave Lewis, former Tesco chief executive, was appointed CEO of Diageo and pledged $1 billion in savings with $1.2 billion in associated restructuring costs. Diageo brands include Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, Don Julio and Guinness. North American organic sales fell 8.4 percent in the year to June 30 while the share price has more than halved since its January 2022 peak.
