Framing Analysis
Governor Jared Polis fired Azra Taslimi and Hannah Seigel Proff from the Executive Clemency Advisory Board after they published an op-ed opposing the commutation of Tina Peters' nine-year sentence. Peters, a former Republican Mesa County clerk, was convicted in 2024 of tampering with voting machines. The firings occurred after the June 18 op-ed and were attributed to violations of confidentiality rules.
