On June 27, more than 10 Chinese and Russian military aircraft entered South Korea's Korea Air Defence Identification Zone (KADIZ) over the East Sea and South Sea before departing, prompting South Korea to scramble fighter jets without any airspace violation occurring. South Korea had detected the aircraft in advance and lodged no new protests, while China and Russia described the activity as a joint patrol. A similar event involving nine aircraft occurred in December 2025.
