A cracked methyl methacrylate tank at an industrial site in Garden Grove, California, led to evacuation orders for more than 40,000 residents after a weekend pressure release. Orange County Fire Authority crews lowered the tank temperature from 100°F to 93°F and confirmed no active leak, eliminating the risk of a boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion. Evacuation orders remain in place as of Monday.
