A verification mission with DR Congo government, AFC/M23, and ICGLR representatives reached South Kivu on Monday, one day after a Switzerland-mediated roadmap was agreed in Geneva. The process builds on a prior U.S.-brokered framework from Doha and includes planned MONUSCO support with endorsements from the United States, Qatar, African Union, and Switzerland. Fighting since 2022 has killed hundreds and displaced millions while M23 holds large areas of North and South Kivu.
