Five patients have recovered from the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in eastern Congo, with announcements made during the opening of a treatment center in Bunia. The outbreak, confirmed in mid-May, has produced 906 suspected cases and 223 suspected deaths in Congo according to available reports, with additional confirmed cases in Uganda. Brazil has identified two possible cases, and the WHO has declared a public health emergency of international concern.
