Flooding along the Bhote Koshi River on August 26 led to rescue operations for Indian nationals in Nepal and near the China border. Hindustan Times reported 108 Indians rescued, contact restored with 40 others, 598 safely crossed from China, and 275 Indians plus 128 PIOs missing as of late Saturday. Anadolu Agency stated at least 675 deaths occurred and the United States pledged $3.6 million in aid including food for 10,000 households.
